We are frequently respond to requests from Community and/or Civic Organizations to speak on a variety of Safety Topics. These topics range from Child Safety to Severe Weather preparedness. While we have several instructors on staff, these presentations are designed to enhance awareness of the problem and possible solutions. FIRST AID |

We respond to requests from groups interested in Basic First Aid. These classes instruct what you should do for an injured person until help arrives. These are not Red Cross Certification classes, but for general information. We have conducted these classes for church groups, scout troops, extended care facilities, and day care centers. The main topics covered are: *How to recognize life threatening emergencies. *How to control bleeding. *How to perform rescue breathing. *What to do for a diabetic. *What to do for an airway obstruction. *What to do for burn victims. *When to suspect spinal injuries. * What to do for allergic reactions. *How to deal with a seizure patient *What to do for accidental poisonings.

These classes are taught by the American Heart Association instructors to meet that organizations standards, We offer the Health Care Provider and Heart Saver Courses. The Health Care Provider Course is designed for the individual working in the Health Care profession (Physicians, Nurses, EMS Personnel, etc.). This course covers one and two rescuer CPR for the adult, child, and infant. It also covers Airway Obstruction relief techniques for all ages, use of the pocket mask and bag valve mask and use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator). The Heart Saver Course is designed for the general public. This course can be taught for just adult, child, and/or infant CPR and airway obstructions techniques for that age group. This group is also instructed in the use of the pocket mask and AED (Automated External Defibrillator). |
