LETTER FROM DIRECTOR

Welcome to the Person County Emergency Services Web Site.  Person County Emergency Services serves the citizens of Person County by providing Emergency Medical Services, as well as taking the lead coordination role during major emergency and disaster situations in Emergency Management.  Person County Emergency Medical Services responds to nearly 4000 calls a year to assist Person County residents.  We also coordinate resources on the local and state level to resolve the day-to-day hazards that may affect the citizens of Person County.

During major disaster situations, Person County Emergency Services staff work in the County Emergency Operations Center to coordinate other County agencies while we shelter and feed citizens, gather damage assessment information and compile that information to work towards various disaster declarations.  At times, we are tasked with making unpopular decisions that will affect the safety and well being of citizens.

We also coordinate resources for hazardous materials spills, large fires, and any unusual emergency event that occurs in the County.  Our role is to obtain and provide specialized resources such as Hazardous Materials Clean-up Teams, Hazardous Materials Response Teams, Specialized Search and Rescue Resources and any other specialized resource that may be needed on an incident.

Encompassed in this site, you will find various information to help you, the Citizen, protect yourself and your family during emergency situations.  Please enjoy your visit.  If you have any specific questions, or would like to arrange a speaker from our agency, please do not hesitate to call us at 336-599-3136.

Thank You and Have a Great Day!

Michael Day, Director
